The New Toyota Vios 2013 is finally here, not available in Malaysia yet but the Vios will look pretty much same if not identical to the one just revealed in Thailand. Designed to be more appealing to the younger generation, the new Toyota Vios certainly looks much better compare to the last generation that we Malaysian call it the “dugong Vios”.  Aligned with the New Toyota vehicles design theme, the New Vios certainly looks sportier, at some angle it reminds of the Ford Fiesta.

Disappointingly it is still powered by the same 4 speed gearbox mated with 1.5L engine that produces 109 HP (80 kW) and 141 Nm of torque that is more than 10 years (since 2002). There will be a few variants of specs as we can expect here. In Thailand, the higher end model will have projector headlight, bigger wheels, all round disc brakes and some interior, exterior differences.

The swift body lines helps the new Vios looks sporty, it makes us feel like the designer had took more effort when designing this Vios. The interior in 2013 Toyota Vios looks much better than generation as well. We see some resembles of the current Honda City. Toyota has got rid of the center speedometer design of the previous generation. Again, more swift lines continues of the design of the interior which makes the new Vios 2013 feels like it has upgraded itself to a different segment.

The current Toyota Vios is sold around RM70,000+ to RM90,000 . We expect the new Vios 2013 will be priced at this range to keep the competition with the vast variety of competition in this segment ( Honda City, Nissan Almera, Mazda 2, Ford Fiesta & etc). By looks, we are quite confident it will do a good sale once it reaches our shore. However, we look forward for Toyota to bring in some new engine at our shores.

Yesterday, Toyota announced that the global vehicle production of Toyota has recovered to pre-tsunami levels as of last month.

The massive Japan earthquake and tsunami on March 11 in northeastern Japan disrupted production of Toyota and other automakers because parts suppliers in northeastern Japan were damaged.

Toyota initially said it didn’t expect production to return to normal until late this year.

It said in June that production would be nearly back to normal in July. In August, it said it would be completely recovered in September. The latest confirmation highlights Toyota’s ability to bounce back.

Furthermore, Toyota workers will be racking up overtime and doing extra shifts in coming months to make up for lost production from the disaster. 

The long awaited (in fact, very long awaited) Toyota FT-86 is still yet to arrive while Toyota schedule to preview yet another new version of the concept out to the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show.

According to Toyota, this latest edition is a slightly revised version of the FT-86 II concept that we’ve already seen. Toyota has just released a teaser video of the updated car. Keep your feedback in and enjoy the video.

According to indianautosblog.com, Toyota executives held a meeting with 1,223 Toyota dealers in Las Vegas last Wednesday. Somehow, the video footage has made its way on the internet. In the video, the new Camry roll in on-stage with Katy Perry’s hot hit Firework song played in the background.

While we can’t guarantee the video is 100% the real thing based on the amateur video footage. However, given that the colour of one of the Camry inside the clip as well as the background seem to match the official video showing Toyota Motor Corporation President Akio Toyoda standing next to the new 2012 Toyota Camry [Refer to our previous post: http://www.fastmotoring.com/index.php/2011/07/toyota-camry-2012-is-coming/]. Hence, we think it should be the real thing here since the hybrid variant is also debuted during the dealers event.

The new generation Toyota Camry 2012 is no longer a rumor or speculation anymore. Toyota Corporation is hyped up to bring the new redesign Toyota Camry 2012 to the world. It has been widely speculate that the next generation of Toyota Camry will be a same model across the world whether it’s America, Europe or Asia.

The above picture is from a Japanese media firm indicating that this would probably how the 2012 Toyota Camry would look like. To make the market more excited for it, Toyota President himself (Akio Toyoda) has brought up a teaser video for the new Toyota Camry. He promised that this would be the best Camry ever.

The new Toyota Camry 2012 will be revealing in September this year. A note that we would like to highlight here is that, notice the tease spot of the Toyota Camry 2012 is at the headlamp – which happen to be quite similar to the photo above.
