Although the new Porsche 911 (Series 991) looks similar to the outgoing 911 (Series 997), but it is reported to be about 5.5 cm longer than the current version, with the wheelbase (the distance between front and rear wheels) stretching slightly to offset the extra body length. The car’s roofline is lower than the current model by 1.1 cm.

The new 911 features a more rounded look than the current one, with a more raked windscreen, bulbous new all-LED headlights, and a smoother front bumper with larger intakes and integrated LED daytime running lights.

The rear wheel arches have been pumped to give it a wider look, and the side mirrors are now mounted on the doors. The rear end of the supercar has been significantly re-sculpted, with restyled, slim-line LED taillights, and a smoother bumper bar aiding the streamline effect.

The more powerful Carrera S is fitted with a larger 3.8-litre 6-cylinder that produces close to 300kW of power.

Both new engines will be available mated to a new 7-speed manual transmission or Porsche’s 7-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission.
