All New Honda City 2014 Launched in Malaysia. Price starts from RM75,800

Honda Malaysia have officially launched the all-new Honda City earlier today. We’ve all seen the preview of the all new Honda City last month. This time, Honda Malaysia is ready to push the highly-anticipated car to the Malaysian market. 

The 4th-generation Honda City will come in 4 variants in our Malaysian market. Starting from Grade S (lowest spec), Grade S+, Grade E and Grade V (highest spec). All 4 models spots a 1.5L i-VTEC engine that produces 120PS at 6,600rpm and 145Nm of torque at 4,600rpm. What’s new is the brand new CVT (Continuous Variable Transmission) gearbox that replaces the previous generation’s 5-speed automatic gearbox. No manual transmission introduced for the Honda City unlike the Toyota Vios. 

The advanced new Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT) that was developed under Honda’s Earth Dreams Technology to provide the perfect combination of driving performance and fuel economy. Additionally, for the first time, the ECON mode is now a standard feature in the All-New City across all variants to further improve the vehicle’s fuel usage with the push of a button. 

The Honda City does 0-100km/h between 10.5seconds to 10.8seconds. 10.8seconds is for the heavier tyred top ranged Grade V variant. Top speed for all is said to be 190km/h.

What differs all 4 of the variants are the accessories that are equipped with. The All-New City is equipped with advanced features such Smart Entry and Push Start button (E and V variant). Wheel size are also different for all 4 models – 15″ steel wheel with cover for S variant, 15″ Alloy rims for S+ and E variant while 16″ Alloy rims will be fitted into the top ranging V variant.

A 7″ Display audio system is fitted in Grade V while S+ and E will only get a Standard audio system (like previous generation) and Grade S will spot a Single Din audio player. What’s great is that Honda has equipped 8 speakers into the top ranging Grade V being the most in its segment. While the other variants (S, S+ and E will only get 4 speakers. Multi Information Combination Meter,Rear Ventilation Air Conditioning (E and V variant), 2 USB Jacks (V variant), 3 Power Sockets (E and V variant), 8 Cup Holders and smart storage compartments. The advanced Steering Wheel Hands Free Telephone Control (S+, E and V variant) and Steering Wheel Voice Recognition Control (V variant) are connected with the vehicle’s infotainment system to provide convenience at the driver’s fingertips.

Safety wise, the All-New City also offers top safety features that prioritize driver and passengers.It has class-leading 6 Airbags (V variant) (including Dual Front SRS Airbags, i-Side Airbags and Side Curtain Airbags), Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) (E and V variant), Hill Start Assist (E and V variant), Emergency Stop Signal (E and V variant) and ISO Fix features. 

All-New City is available in 5 colours: Modern Steel Metallic, Alabaster Silver Metallic, Taffeta White, Crystal Black Pearl and a new attractive colour of Brilliant Sporty Blue Metallic. 

Price starts from RM75,800 for the S variant and RM78,800 for the S+ variant, RM83,800 for the E variant. The top ranged V variant is priced at RM90,800.

Honda Malaysia offers 5-year warranty with unlimited mileage and service interval is 10,000km to provide further ease to customers to make the City the vehicle of their choice. 

 The All-New City will also come in 2 accessory packages consisting of Honda’s Genuine Accessories (RM1,700) and Honda’s Modulo Package (RM3,200) to enable customers to customize their vehicle.
