Hyundai Sonata Facelift 2013

Awhile ago, the Hyundai Sonata has just launch a brand new facelift in Malaysia market. Positioned as the Hyundai Sonata for the year 2013. Hyundai made a few improvements in the interior as well as exterior.

The exterior upgrades include a brand new front grille, a new pair of tail lamps with LED illumination, incorporated LED to redesigned fog lamps and LED side mirrors. There’s new 18″ rim design as well as the cat-eye shaped HID headlamps exclusive for the 2.4L Hyundai Sonata that helps increase visibility on road especially at night.

The new facelifted Hyundai Sonata 2.0L gets a new 2.0L Nu engine that is 30% ligther and promises to deliver better fuel efficiency. With a lighter engine that shave off 33.6 kg, Hyundai claims that it has improve the vehicle handling as well.

As for the interior, for the 2.0L Hyundai Sonata 2013, there slight changes. Some controls as repositioned for better convenience of the driver and deep blue LED back-light is added. As for the 2.4L model, there’s dual zone auto climate air conditioning for individual temperatures settings. A new step-gate pattern type gearshift is introduce in all facelift Hyundai Sonata model for more precise gear shift. In addition of gadgets in the 2.4L Hyundai Sonata, there will be a on board video recorder by “Lukas Blackbox” which provide real time video recording of the road situation, that driver can be use as evidence should accident happens.

The Sonata Facelift 2.4L version gets 6 airbags, which includes the driver, front passenger, and curtain airbags for the front and rear seats. Other safety highlights of the 2.4L version include the ASD (Amplitude Selective Damper) which gives a smoother ride as well as an excellent handling of the car, and the Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) that comes with Hill Start Assist Control (HAC). The ESP features an engine control unit that receives input from individual wheel speed sensors, yaw sensor and steering angle sensor. It applies the brakes on individual wheels to help make the vehicle easier to control in precarious and close situations. The HAC gives better control when you are on a slope. It prevents slipping for up to 2 seconds when stopped on an incline.

Hyundai Malaysia offers a 5-year or 300,000km (whichever comes first) extended warranty on all its new passenger vehicles. Hyundai’s extended warranty is in accordance to its manufacturing warranty.
