The new Infiniti M35h unleashes 360hp from new-generation hybrid technology which set new benchmark in power and efficiency. Basically, the Infiniti M35h is the first and latest model that comes with ‘Infiniti Direct Response Hybrid’ technology. Along with it, the more affordable M25 is introduced as well. As of now, the Infinite M line offers 3 variants with M25, M37 and M35h.

In the high performance class, the M35h is powered by 302hp 3.5-litre V6 with a 68hp single electric motor is more accelerative than any 6-cylinder contender. With the 0-100km/h sprint taking just 5.5 seconds, an official NEDC (New European Drive Cycle) fuel consumption on the combined cycle of 14.5km/l and CO2 emissions of 162g/km, Infiniti’s technology leader stands as the new exemplar of hybrid development – quicker and more economical than rivals, even those costing substantially more.

The M35h is a full hybrid with 3.5-litre V6 engine and electric motor able to work in series or parallel mode, enabling the car to be driven by electricity, petrol or a combination of both. Thanks to features such as a decoupling V6 engine, powerful 68bhp electric motor and highly responsive lithium-ion battery pack, Infiniti Direct Response Hybrid does more than any other system to extend the hybrid’s city advantage to the open road. Tests have shown that the M35h can drive further, for longer and at higher speeds on electric power than hybrids currently on sale. In trials in the USA, the Infiniti M35h was able to drive in electric-only mode for up to 50% of the time over a mixed route that included highways as well as congested city streets.

Key features of the hybrid system include a single electric motor to save weight, no torque converter to reduce mechanical losses, and linear performance and consistent handling feel thanks to seamless petrol/electric power delivery to the rear wheels only, enhancing the responsiveness essential for maximum driving pleasure. A 7-speed transmission, fully automated, further boosts driver appeal.

In addition the Infiniti M35h is equipped with innovative new hybrid electric power steering and regenerative braking, a hybrid dashboard display showing energy flows and a low-speed audible warning system – Approaching Vehicle Sound for Pedestrians (VSP) – the first time such a system has been made standard on any hybrid. VSP emits a non-intrusive sound that varies in pitch and volume at vehicle speeds up to about 30km/h to help ensure the safety of pedestrians and other road users when the M35h is in silent electric mode.

The M saloon provides the perfect base for such a technology flagship. Set apart only by its badges, the M35h shares the same highly distinctive, exceptionally aerodynamic body (Cd: 0.26) and spacious cabin as its M37 counterpart. Based on the FM (Front-Midship) platform, the M35h delivers incisive handling matched by exceptional ride comfort tuned for European roads.

Moreover, the addition of the new M25 to the M Sedan lineup has just made Infiniti’s unique blend of performance and luxury even more accessible to luxury car buyers in Malaysia.

While the M25 is Infiniti’s most affordable model yet, there are no compromises when it comes to performance and luxury features. Powered by a 218hp/243Nm 2.5-litre DOHC 24-valve V6 that is mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission, the rear-wheel driven M25 completes the benchmark 0-100km/h sprint in 8.5sec and is rated up 231km/h in top speed.

Visually, there is little to differentiate the M25 to its high-performance M35h Hybrid and M37 brethrens as it comes with 18-inch aluminium alloy wheels shod with 245/50 R18 performance tires. The extensive list of standard equipment includes the Drive Mode Selector, Active Noise Control, Adaptive Front lighting System (AFS) with auto-leveling headlights, Intelligent Key with Keyless Entry and Push Button Ignition, powered glass moon-roof, quilted leather seats and Infiniti’s distinctive White ash silver-powdered wood trim.

The 2012 Infiniti M Line is offered in six exterior colors – Platinum Graphite, Malbec Black, Storm Front Grey, Liquid Platinum, Black Obsidian, and Moonlight White.

“For 2012, the Infiniti range of luxury performance vehicles will be reinforced with the introduction of the world’s fastest accelerating full hybrid, the M35h, as well as a competitively priced M25 which sports a 2.5L V6 with as much emphasis on luxury, comfort and equipment as well as driving pleasure.” said Christopher Tan, General Manager of Inspired Motor.
