Perodua define the Alza SR (Smart Ride) edition as a more affordable variant for fellow Malaysia. Priced between RM53,013.50 and RM56,513.50 on-the-road in Peninsular Malaysia.

Perodua Managing Director Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh mentioned that “Perodua customers  like the versatility and functionality that Alza offers and do not mind having less features available compared with the standard and other variants.”  However the key safety and aesthetics of the Perodua Alza will of course remain with the SR edition.

Suzuki Kizashi Malaysia Launching Real Soon

Suzuki Kizashi has been launched in other countries way back in 2009. While rumors has it Suzuki Malaysia will launch the car somewhere in January 2012, here in Malaysia. We send our troops to go scouting. The picture was taken in outside one of the Eon Berhad complex. As EonMobil distributes Suzuki vehicles as well, it make sense that the black Suzuki Kizashi  with trade plate spotted near their complex. The Suzuki Kizashi was not camouflaged in anyways.

We posted an article back in August 2009 on the Suzuki Kizashi concepts and some of the actual launch details. The car is believe to be powered with a 2.4L engine.

Toyota Prius C Malaysia soon, Priced RM103k

Toyota Prius C is coming to Malaysia! As tease from UMW Toyota website & thanks to our government in support of hybrid cars the company has announce an attractive estimation Price of RM103,990.  In short, the Toyota Prius C is a smaller size brother of the original Prius or rather a more compact version of Toyota Prius.

As quoted with the in the previous article we had, The Toyota Prius C is “small, light and efficient 1.5-litre (1,496 cc – Engine Model: 1NZ-FXE) Toyota hybrid system with reduction gear. It comes with a selectable electric-vehicle mode (EV Mode) enables driving with only the electric motor. The maximum output @ 73kW from the hybrid powerplant.”

A Possible Chevrolet Cruze Facelift in 2012

Chevrolet Cruze was launch in mid 2010 here in Malaysia. We have driven it back then. In fact, the model was launch in 2008 Paris Motor show and started selling in the US and Australia in 2009. After about more than 2 years in the market, this was spotted on one of the forum online. Some forumers say this is the new facelift Chevrolet Cruze of the model year 2012. While we do not have detail information to confirm this, we thought we should share it you our readers too.

The major difference of this snap shot than the current version of Chevrolet Cruze would be the fog lights area. The fog lights casing are shaped triangularly and added what it looks like a vertical day light LED on top of the fog lights to keep up the trend.

This could also be possible just a minor facelift for the European market. Whatever it is, whether is a aftermarket new bumper or an upcoming facelift. It does make the Cruze looks more stylish.

Perodua Myvi Extreme 1.5L Manual Review in Malaysia

When the proclamation about the new Perodua Myvi 1.5L will be launching, our enthusiast’s sense triggered to drive a more powerful Myvi immediately. We took the top of the range Perodua Myvi Extreme with a 5-speed manual transmission to get the maximum output from the 1.5-litre that produces 102hp and attempt to achieve the 0-100km/h in below 10 seconds.

With 2 adults onboard, we are able to achieve 10.7 seconds from 0-100km/h. Hence, we believe 0-100km/h below 10 seconds is achievable. The 1.5-litre engine performs pretty well and responsive. However, the engine gets a bit loud when we’re doing high 5000rpm above. Otherwise on a normal day cruising or over taking with the Perodua Myvi 1.5, not a problem at all.

According to Perodua’s engineer, the all the new Myvi has been fitted with an extra bar in the rear body and a firmer suspension tuning for the Myvi 1.5 too.The car grips pretty well for a short wheel base vehicle. Steering response was predictable and relatively direct. As we are driving the manual version of the Myvi Extreme, we often require to change gears with the gear stick, we felt that the gear stick was position a bit low even the driver seats is positioned to the lowest.
