2013 Honda Civic Type R Turbocharged Instead of VTEC ?

The next generation of 2013 Honda Civic Type R is speculated to be Honda’s first-ever turbo road car. Due to strict emissions regulations, the new Civic Type R will replace its 2.0-litre naturally aspirated engine with a 2.0-litre turbo designed to comply with Euro V emissions regulations. Stop-start is also likely to be fitted too.

To be expected, we will be seeing the similar engine to be featured in Honda’s 2012 British Touring Car Championship challenger. The new 2013 Honda Civic Type R is estimated to churn out 210bhp, 0-100km/h in less than 6.5 seconds with a top speed of 240km/h.

Instead of 3-door, Honda will offer the car as a 5-door only. Prices are expected to start from around £23,000 in UK when it arrives in 2013.

Only 5-door version desired by the parent!? They have to be joking, right?
A sporty car has to be a 3 door (as well), the 3 door design is a great and must fit to a car like this and will definitely attract more buyers merely from a design point of view. Please bring back the 3 door TYPE S. Then you have a buyer right here!

l wanted a new type R what happen to the fun sporty hatch back lve got a 54 plate honda civic type R and to be honest its the best one and lam never going to bye a honda civic again the design has gone down hill big time . l would of thought honda would want to make cars like the nsx and a good fun hot hatch as well as faimly cars etc lam very disappointed

2000cc turbo, yet only 210hp?
omg, others are doing 180hp with only 1400cc…..
as a type-r owner, i expect something like 250-260hp……

what difference does it make if its a 3 or 5 door…. the FD2 is a 4 door and whoops the FN2′s arse anyday which is currently a 3…..

And i currently own a 2010 Civic type R i would trade it anyday for an FD2
