Toyota Vios TRD Sportivo was born in the last pre-facelift version and it has been revised together with this Vios facelift version. We’ve reported to you on the Toyota Vios G Spec & Toyota Vios E Spec earlier. Thus, we will be concertrating what UMW Toyota give you as extra in the Vios TRD Sportivo as compare to other Vios variants.

At a glance from the front, immediately the sporty factors is carried out with the lower front bumper bodykit and with a badge with “TRD Sportivo” it does give this Vios a very outstanding factor as compare to others variant.

The rear of a the Vios TRD Sportivo is equipped with  low spoiler with another 3rd brake light on top of the existing one. Although the spoiler it’s not as aggressive looking as those after-market Mugen or Evo X spoiler, this spoiler carries the sportiness of the 1.5L  Vios without over doing it unlike the one on Toyota Altis TRD Sportivo we posted earlier.

The sides of the spoiler is also badged with TRD Sportivo logo. The rear bodykit of Vios TRD Sportivo is painted with a two-tone colour effect to increase the visual effect of a diffuser like styling. A chrome tail pipe is also attached to the exhaust. To further identify this top of the range Vios, a TRD Sportivo badge is attached to the rear boot where normally other version of Vios would be placing “J, E or G” .

From the side it seems this Vios TRD Sportivo seems to look lower than a standard Vios.  A pair of side skirt is attached to the car to complete the full TRD  Sportivo aerokit as a visual effect to make the car look lower thus again sportier.

TRD Sportivo badges are also found on the sides skirts of the car.The Vios TRD Sportivo is equipped with 4 TRD Sportivo rims with and red TRD logo and background of carbon fiber print. However, it’s still at 15″ rim. Like the Vios G spec, the door visor is given as well.

If you’re bored of me mentioning the TRD Sportivo badges, there’s more to come. The goodies continues inside the car. UMW Toyota, gives the TRD Sportivo more of the racing blood. The seats of the Vios TRD Sportivo are red paired with black colour.

The TRD Sportivo logo it’s also stitched on to the both front seats. Something that amazed me was the black and red material of the seat is actually different. The black part of the seat it’s some material similar Alcantara which found in RECARO seats in EVO X and the Civic Type R , while the red part of the seats are standard fabric. Even the car matt is also a TRD Sportivo badge car matt with a red/black colour to match the interior of the car.

UMW Toyota did not compromise in giving this Vios TRD Sportivo in the equipments. The integrated stereo system to the panel along with audio controls on the steering is still here as compare the Vios G Spec. The steering of the Vios TRD Sportivo is wrapped with leather and with red lining stitching.

The difference here is the Vios TRD Sportivo features a different colour panel to match the sportiness feel of the vehicle. The shape of the steering of this facelift Vios is much nicer – as compare the the pre-facelift, that look similar like the steering from Proton Wira. The rear seats are also red with black theme. The space of the rear seats are same like all other Vios.

Sportiness is everywhere in the All-new Toyota Vios TRD Sportivo. The door panel is also trim with sportiness to match the rest of the interior.

The door panel, handle and where all the windows control switches located are wrapped with carbon fiber looking prints. The door panel it self is paired with the same red colour we found on the seats. As i step out from the Vios TRD Sportivo, i can’t help notice another TRD Sportivo badge on the metal plated side step which available on all 4 door exits of the Vios TRD Sportivo.

As you start the Vios TRD Sportivo, the Optitron Meter & the Multi-Information Display(MID) lights up. With a button switch you can see some statical information of the Vios TRD Sportivo such as, Odomters, Two Trip meters, Instantaneous Fuel Consumption, Average Fuel Consumption, Driving Range ( estimation on how many more kilometres you can travel) and Average Vehicle Speed. This is only available in Vios TRD Sportivo. Other than that the gear knob are black leather wrapped with red stitching.

The Toyota Vios TRD Sportivo is going for RM 92,000 with insurance with all the accessories and equipment mention above except for an optional suspension to have a more firmer and stable ride for RM 3150.  Overall, the Toyota Vios TRD Sportivo is quite a attractive package to attract the younger generations. We can see that UMW Toyota did pay alot of details in this Vios TRD Sportivo. With just an extra of RM4700 as compare to the Vios G spec i think this is a much better Toyota Vios we can look into. Grey Mica Metallic – Silver Metallic – Medium Silver Metallic – Coal Black and a Non-Metallic White.

The 2010 Toyota Vios Facelift model arrived at all Peninsular Malaysia Toyota showrooms since 16^th April 2010.  For those are still new to Toyota Vios models, they offers Vios 1.5 Automatic Transmission with TRD Sportivo, G, E, J Spec and Manual Transmission with J Spec. All variants having the same engine and price range from RM71,990 to RM92,000.

So far, Toyota Vios and Nissan Sentra is the only 2 Japanese Passenger Cars that offering Manual Transmission besides the sports car like Civic Type R. – Which I am proud of that they know what the markets wants.

There are always people saying, Toyota selling ‘uncle’ car with ‘uncle spec’. Things are totally different now. UMW Toyota now finally knows what the market wants.In this article, I would concentrate on the comparisons between G Spec and E Spec.

After the new facelift, the E Spec now come with Dark coloured Interior which suddenly make things totally different – Much nicer, more ultramodern.

Prospective buyers that prefer beige interior and chrome finishing, they can now go for G Spec. While young owner that wants something sportier, you have option of J, E Spec or the TRD Sportivo.

The G Spec comes with integrated audio head unit while the E Spec comes with Standard double-din audio head unit with MP3, WMA and 4 Speakers. Overall, is not a bad thing as now you can fit ‘aftermarket’ double-din multimedia head unit with reverse camera by simply replacing it without changing the panel.

For E Spec, there is no chrome package. As results of that, the parking brake knob, centre register knob, shift lever housing and inside door handle come in black colour.

For steering wheel, you still get the new design with flat bottom that similar with the new 2010 Toyota Wish in Japan but without leather wrap and audio controller.

For TRD Sportivo, G Spec and E Spec, they all come with dual Front SRS Airbag.

The interior seats now uses dark grey fabric and the rear seats come with 60:40 Split Foldable.

For G Spec and E Spec, both get the power adjustable & retractable with Turn Indicator. There is no Door Visor for E Spec as it is limited to the TRD Sportivo and G Spec.

Furthermore, E Spec doesn’t have Body Side Moulding which makes the car look a little plain comparing to G Spec and the TRD Sportivo.

The E Spec remains using the rim from the pre-facelift model. For E Spec and J Spec, the rear brakes come with Drum instead of Solid Disc.

Toyota Vios facelift Malaysia refreshed for the new 2010 edition to take on the competitors in the market. This is the second generation of Toyota Vios in Malaysia and a facelifted version. UMW Toyota Malaysia markets the new face-lifted Vios as “Vios Desirable“. The auto-maker expects to sell more than 32,400 units of the Toyota Vios this year prior with the launch of this facelift model.

The car we are talking here will be the Toyota Vios G-spec. While most of the facelift will at least have a new bumper design. Toyota Vios facelift for 2010 retain the same bumper. However, from the front view we can easily notice a New Radiator Grille fixed to the face-lifted Vios. The new design it said to be a more sporty appearance. However we think that it’s more of the “elegance” theme as it reminds us the resemblance of the Camry styled front grille.

Another point that easily noticeable to differentiate between facelift and pre-facelift from the rear of the Vios, would be the rear lamps. The new enhanced rear lamps give a more dimensional layer of each lamp. I think its better design compare to the old one as it has some “wing” effect.

The new Vios also comes with a new 15″ six twin-spoke new alloy rims. Since we are looking at the Vios Facelift G-spec, a new set of wheels limited to the 1.5 G variant of Vios as above. On top of that, only the G-spec of Vios and the TRD Sportivo has front-back disc brake while the J-spec and E-spec variant of Vios gets Front disc brake and rear drum brakes.

Moving on to the interior, we can see the new steering wheel being attached to the new Vios. Personally I quite like the design of this steering wheel, the older one reminds me of some old 90′s car every time I sat in a Vios. The new steering is wrapped with leather and has a slight sporty grip feel.

For the G-spec of the facelift Vios, the interior has been enhanced to have a more elegant appearance. Notice the parking brake knob, centre register knob has been added with chrome trim. The integrated audio system it’s available only in Vios G-spec.

The door handle and shift lever housing it’s also enhanced with chrome finish.

To further enhance the Toyota Vios Facelift G-spec, a sleek leather seat is designed to fit into the Vios G-spec for a more “sporty luxury stylish” feel.

There will be a set of door visors if you choose the 1.5 TRD Sportivo Vios or the 1.5 G-spec Vios. The door visor to me it’s just a personal flavour, some say that it might lead to louder wind noise (usually on aftermarket door visor). However, Toyota claims the door visor enhanced the aerodynamics and a clearer vision during rain – which I agree.

The new Toyota Vios second generation in Malaysia face-lifted edition, is powered by a 1.5 litre engine that produces 108 bhp and 141 Nm of torque. The same 1NZ-FE with VVT-i technology found in the 1st generation of Toyota Vios many years ago. The entire Vios variant comes with a 4-speed automatic transmission, except the lowest spec which is the J-Spec Vios it’s available in 5-Speed Manual Transmission.

Safety wise, other than Vios J-spec that gets only 1 air bag, the rest gets two air bags (one of the driver and one of the passenger). All Vios variant now comes with ABS with EBD and also Brake assist.

As for the side mirror, now all variant of Vios has electronically retractable side mirror. The pre-facelift version of J-Spec Vios does not have this feature.

A quick note, the TRD Sportivo Vios can be further enhanced with a sport suspension as optional.

Fellows that been following us thru out the Toyota Vios Facelift article, probably you have knew that UMW Toyota Motor have increase and slightly decrease the estimated price on the facelift model of Toyota Vios. Unfortunately with all the adjustment, the price of a new Vios has now maintained above the mark of RM70k. For a detail on that, please check out our previous post on Toyota Vios Facelift Malaysia 2010.

As listed in their website, UMW Toyota Motor maintained the line-up Vios 1.5 (A/T) with TRD Sportivo, G, E, J and Vios 1.5 M/T J.

From all I can see from the photos of the new Vios that been provided. The facelift model gets a new redesigned grille on the front, new headlamp, new rear lamp, maybe a set of redesigned alloy wheels, maybe a new cushion fabric and the most attractive part is a new steering wheel that looks a bit similar to the one on VW Golf GTI! Apart from all the cosmetics works, the technical specification seems to be maintained with no surprises.

UMW Toyota Malaysia made some updates of the estimated Price List for the New Upcoming Toyota Vios Facelift 2010 that will be launch soon here. The previous estimated price was higher.

I guess due to the pressure of Toyota brand name worldwide, and new competitors such as Kia Forte, Mazda 2 and upoming Ford Fiesta – They decided to reduce the price of the new facelift Vios as compare to the earlier estimated price here.

Toyota Vios 1.5 TRD Sportivo (AT) has reduced RM990 as compare to the earlier estimated price here.

Toyota UMW Malaysia seems to facelifted the vios and it is coming to your showroom near you real soon.The above image which is from Toyota website give us a little tease about the up coming Toyota Vios 2010 Malaysia version.

The most significant change as we will notice is the front grille, a different style of rear lamp and possible a new design of rims.

UMW Toyota Malaysia will make some adjustment to the price of the new facelift vios.
