Over last year, Mercedes-Benz Cars sold more vehicles than ever before in a year. A total of 1,362,908 vehicles of the brands Mercedes-Benz, Smart and Maybach have been delivered to customers. It is around 77,000 units more than in the previous record of 1,285,900 units set in 2007.

2011 was also the best sales year in the history of the brand Mercedes-Benz Cars. With 1,260,912 units sold and an increase of 8.0% compared to the prior year the previous sales record of 2007 (1,185,200 units) was clearly exceeded. Since the beginning of the year sales of the brand with the star have been up every month. Particularly successful was the sales development in the fourth quarter. 341,624 delivered units made it the best-selling quarter in the company’s history. In December alone, worldwide deliveries rose by 15.1% to 124,387 vehicles despite the very good result achieved already in December 2010. Thus last month, more vehicles were sold than ever before in this period.

“We’re very satisfied with our sales development. In 2011 we sold more vehicles than ever before,” says Dr. Dieter Zetsche, CEO of Daimler AG and Head of Mercedes-Benz Cars. “We also set the course for the future: The newly introduced generation of the C-Class, the C-Class coupe, the SLK, and the CLS are extremely popular among customers. The same applies to the new B-Class and new M-Class, which were introduced in Europe only recently. The full-year 2011 was also shaped by our strong development in important growth markets such as the Brazil, Russia, India, China and positive development in the U.S.”

After all, Mercedes-Benz remains strongest premium brand in Germany and the C-Class sedan is the top seller in its segment. Lastly, we congratulate Mercedes-Benz for such a great results. Keep it on.

Do you able to differentiate a Mercedes-Benz ML350 and a Honda CR-V?

The cops in China thought that they probably able to fool the taxpayers by re-badged their Mercedes-Benz ML350 into  Honda CR-V. An ML350 reportedly costs around 900,000 yuan while the Honda CR-V costs around 200,000 yuan in China.

The arrangement went wrong and citizens of Fengchenggang in Guangxi Province posted the pictures of the Mercedes-Benz CR-V on the internet. As usual, the police official completely denied about this incident.

Compare with the original Mercedes-Benz ML350, it looks totally identical except the front grille is painted in black. Unless, the Chinese folks have successfully replicated the ML350, badge it as CR-V and selling in the black market.

According to The New Paper Singapore, our neighbour country had torrential rain which led to flash floods and causes Orchard Road area floods again! The flood damaged many exotic cars being submerged in the basement 3 car park of St Regis Residences at Tanglin Road.

Oh well, this is not the first time and it happen again! We can’t deny the effect of global warming and climate change. All petrol head, let’s work out something to save our environment although is late. Maybe a hybrid car with lower CO2 emission??

The new 2012 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG has been unveiled at the New York Auto Show. The new E63 AMG is now even more powerful and efficient. As part of the AMG Performance 2015″ model strategy, the high-performance E-Class now features the new 5.5-litre V8 bi-turbo engine. Familiar from the 2012 CLS63 AMG this new engine can produce either 518 hp or 550 hp, together with an impressive reduction in fuel consumption – 22% less based on the European driving cycle. Also responsible for improved fuel economy is the newly developed electromechanical AMG speed-sensitive sports steering system which only draws power during steering wheel movements.

This V8 powerhouse, designated internally as the M157, boasts a combination of innovative high-tech components such as spray-guided direct gasoline injection with piezo injectors, a full aluminium crankcase, 4-valve technology with camshaft adjustment, air/water intercooling, generator management and an Eco Stop/Start system. With a displacement of 5,461 cc the eight-cylinder engine develops a peak output of 518 hp and torque of 516 lb-ft. In conjunction with the optional AMG Performance Package, these figures increase to 550 hp and 590 lb-ft. Both variants of the E63 AMG achieve exceptional performance: acceleration from zero to 60 mph takes 4.4 and 4.3 seconds respectively and the top speed is 155 mph or 186 mph with the AMG Performance Package (electronically limited).

The improvements in output and torque that come with the AMG Performance Package can be attributed primarily to an increase in the maximum boost pressure from 14.5 to 18.8 psi. The obvious differentiation of E63 AMG is provided by a carbon fibre engine cover, AMG Performance steering wheel with black Alcantara side grips, red-painted brake callipers and a carbon fibre trunk lid spoiler.

It seems that the Mercedes Grand Prix team has made a practice of offering a Formula One TV Commercial ahead of every F1 race.

Mercedes-Benz has released a new funny episode showcasing the Nico Rosberg and Michael Schumacher rivalry called Decision. This TV Commercial is posted ahead of the Malaysian GP.

On the second video which named Compliments, it is posted two weeks ago ahead of the Australian GP.

Unfortunately, both Mercedes GP drivers failed to finish the race in Albert Park and did not manage to win any place in Sepang.  Let’s just hope the new ad will bring the team more luck in all the upcoming F1 races.
