At the upcoming Australian International Motor Show in coming October, Lexus Australia will premiere the LF-LC hybrid coupe concept. The concept is a further development of a vehicle shown at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year.

The new Lexus’s hybrid coupe concept is packed with more than 370kW and all-wheel drive. Lexus’ stand will centre exclusively on the debut of the concept which also showcases Lexus design and engineering credentials.

Lexus Chief Executive Tony Cramb said that the concept is sure to be a show stopper. “We’ve pulled out all stops this year to secure a world first for Australia,” said Mr Cramb.

“The Lexus concept is an absolutely stunning vehicle and is set to be one of the drawcards of the show.

“The concept will highlight Lexus’ design and engineering expertise – marrying design with function to deliver a glimpse into the future of supercars,” he said.

Australian International Motor Show Event Director Russ Tyrie said that Lexus’ commitment to display a world first is further reinforcement of the significance of the Australian International Motor Show.

“We are thrilled Lexus have chosen the Australian International Motor Show as the stage to unveil this new concept,” said Mr Tyrie.

Lexus reveals its sleek, hybrid-powered 2+2 LF-LC luxury sports coupe concept at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show. The LF-LC is a rear-wheel drive that features with a front-mounted powerful yet efficient hybrid drivetrain.

Inside the driver and passenger are treated to the latest in innovative features, including a remote touch-screen device for command of all on-board vehicle functions and twin 12.3-inch multi-information display screens, lightweight race-inspired seats and a racing steering wheel.

Similar touch-screen surfaces feature on each door and operate the windows, mirrors, seat adjustments and personal entertainment settings.

From the exterior, the coupe’s highly aero-efficient and boldly designed body provides a glimpse into the future of Lexus’ unique “L finesse” design language, characterised by Lexus’ bold new corporate face and spindle grille.

Designed by Lexus’ Californian-based design team, the LF-LC blends form and function – its three-dimensional spindle grille seamlessly forms into lower air intakes that enhance visual muscle, air flow for cooling and aerodynamic performance.

“Our entire studio worked to develop this beautiful interpretation of Lexus originality,” said Kevin Hunter, president of Lexus Californian design studio. “The LF-LC concept embodies our vision of what a premium sport coupe could be.”

The wait is finally over. Lexus has revealed its new concept vehicle ahead of the official at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

The 2+2 sport coupe concept is to be called LF-LC. The LF-LC will be unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit on January 10, 2012. In our first glance, the conceptual model looks similar to Toyota 86 (GT 86).

Anyway, conceived as an exercise to explore the future of Lexus design, the LF-LC was created at the company’s Calty design studio in Newport Beach, California.
