Vorsteiner BMW X6 M with Omni-Carbon VRS Aero Package

Vorsteiner take on the 550hp twin turbo V8 BMW X6 M and attempt to spice up with the Omni-carbon VRS Aero Package. The package come with front lip, vented hood, roof spoiler, deck lid spoiler and rear diffuser. The concept car is also fitted with huge 23″ wheels.

Kia Forte Koup SX with new ‘R’ package in Canada

The Korea Automaker has announced a new ‘R’ package for the Kia Forte Koup SX model in Canada. It will be installed by the Canadian KIA dealer starting from May 2010. YES, Only available in Canada!

The car gotten sportier after the styling and mild performance upgrade.

Basically, the ‘R’ package come with a pair of front lip, side skirts and boot lid spoiler. Furthermore, the car fitted with a set of 18″ alloy wheels wrapped in Yokohama S-Drive tyres. For the performance side, there is nothing much to the Koup SX’s 173-horsepower 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine. But it does add a sport exhaust, AEM air filter, lowered springs that lower the ride height by 1.3” and a strut bar.

Honda Freed Malaysia Launch 22 April 2010

Honda Freed with dual auto sliding doors will be imported from Honda’s Indonesia plant to Malaysia. The Freed is compact mini MPV, based on the new 2009 Honda Jazz.

From the teaser site of Honda Malaysia – 4plusideas.com, I assuming the local model will be 7 seaters model with twin power sliding door with twin SRS airbag. It will be equipped with a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder SOHC 16 valve L15A i-VTEC engine mated with 5-speed auto transmission and delivers an output of 120PS - similar like the 2009 Honda Jazz.

For braking mechanism, the car having front Ventilated Disc Brake and Rear Drum Brake with 15 inch alloy wheels (185/65R15). The Honda Freed was tested with 6 JNCAP Stars for safety too.

The details of the Mini MPV, let’s wait Honda Malaysia reveal it on 22 April 2010.

Japanese Drifting with Mini trucks like Daihatsu and Suzuki which appears to be Rear Wheel Drive

Japanese could be probably bored with FR Coupe like Nissan Silvia S15, Nissan 350z or maybe Honda S-2000. Now, they going drifting with Suzuki or Daihatsu Kei Trucks (Mini Truck).

Now, what it appears here is a team of mini trucks sliding around a track in Japan. Yes, is a mini truck that uses as transport by farmers or traders.

Proton Persona Elegance Facelift 2010 Review

Proton Persona Facelift 2010, or as Proton would like to call it – Proton Persona Elegance. The car just launch today and we manage to get many photos from the local Proton Showroom. The Proton Persona Elegance has new bumper, new foglights design, new headlights with black background and the new grille to match the refresh look. Not to forget the new facelift version of Persona comes with new design full bodykit as standard.

From the rear of the Persona Elegance as many claims from spyshot before the launch it has rear LED lights. I was wondering where did i saw similar rear lights design before – Top and Bottom Red, Middle transparent. After digging through my memories of automotive industry – i recall that, The New Mercedes E-Class is also having the similar design. No wonder, it’s call Persona Elegance.

Of course it also comes with a rear bodykit and a nicer finish of tailpipe. A bootlip is also fitted into the New Persona.As a side note, the model with photos here it’s a Proton Persona Elegance Medium Line with manual transmission.

Many wonder is there any improve in the power/engine of the New Persona Elegance. The answer is No. There’s no Campro CPS option still as for now. It is still the 1.6-litre Campro IAFM engine with 110 bhp at 6,500 rpm and 148 Nm of torque from 4000 rpm which is available from the old Persona.

However the dashboard meter design has been change to have a sportier look. We also got to know that this Persona is equipped with a new 32-bit siemens ECU that allows more configuration and integrated to more systems in the car.

The dealer was nice to me and explain almost every single new feature in the new Proton Persona Elegance to me. I was also told that the new fabrics has been fitted in to the B-Line and M-Line model. I had a chance to sit and feel it, in my personal opinion – i think it has better quality than the older one. The older one was softer and more “towel” type. As for the H-Line it is fitted with leather seats.

New side mirrors now come with signal lights fitted to the new Proton Persona.However there’s still no auto folding for the side mirrors. Medium line and High Line get electric adjustable side mirror.

The facelifted Persona, is also equipped with a new audio system by Blaupunkt. The new audio USB jack for thumbdrives and Aux in capabilities. Only the Baseline does not get steering audio controls for the audio system.The Medium Line and High Line gets GPS system from Proton as an external piece.

The Medium Line and Baseline gets rear drums brakes and as for the High Line,disc brakes is fitted front and rear. As for the wheels, Base Line gets steel rims, Medium and High line gets Alloy rims both tyres are 195/60R15 as the specs indicated. Medium Line and Base Line has an option of Manual or Auto Transmission. The High Line Proton Persona Elegance only comes with Auto transmission.

The price of Proton Persona Elegance/facelift as below,

Base Line (M) – RM46,499

Base Line (A) – RM49,499

Medium Line (M) – RM52,999

Medium Line (A) – RM55,999

High Line (A) – RM59,499

I was told that the baseline has a slight reduction, medium line has an increment of RM2000+ as for the Highline, the price remains the same. The sales adviser also claim that it is more value for money to purchase the High Line version. For those who into white cars lately, there’s no white Persona this round, and Red which code name as Brilliant Red is only available if you choose to purchase the High Line Persona Elegance.

On top of that, Proton Persona Elegance come with two new colours which is Bronze Garnet and Chiffon Green. The above photo is Bronze Garnet Proton Persona (more photos check out our gallery below). Of course the all time Malaysian’s favourite colour – Silver is also available and Black too.

The Highline of Proton Persona Elegance gets much more goodies, such as remote trunk release, auto cruise. Notice in the photo there’s one nice luggage tray which is only available for Medium Line and above.

Proton Persona Elegance comes with ABS & EBD for High line. High Line Persona also gets dual air bag & both pre-tensioner seatbelts while Medium Line Persona gets driver side air bag & pre-tensioner seat belt. As for baseline Proton Persona, not of the above is available with it, so drive extra safely.

The Facelifted Proton Persona is available in most of the Proton Showroom. The Proton Persona Elegance comes with with a 2-year or 50,000 km warranty and a 3-year/125,000 km extended warranty program – that’s total of 5 years and 175,000 km.

Proton Persona Facelift 2010 Spyshot,Launch Tomorrow

Proton Persona Facelift for 2010 is launching tomorrow (Thursday 18 March 2010).The spyshot of Proton Persona Facelift 2010 as claim here is taken today during noon when i was cruising on NKVE today.

As you can see a new design of tail lamps has been fitted on the new persona facelift. The new Proton Persona facelift in the trailer is fitted with bodykit. That’s with rear skirt,side skirt and bootlip as we can see here.

We did not manage to get the front shot of the car because it have been very dangerous.Notice that there’s also a show car for Proton persona with stickers on the top level of the trailer.Most of the Proton Showroom will have the car for display as for tomorrow morning.

Vios Facelift Malaysia 2010 Updated Price

UMW Toyota Malaysia made some updates of the estimated Price List for the New Upcoming Toyota Vios Facelift 2010 that will be launch soon here. The previous estimated price was higher.

I guess due to the pressure of Toyota brand name worldwide, and new competitors such as Kia Forte, Mazda 2 and upoming Ford Fiesta – They decided to reduce the price of the new facelift Vios as compare to the earlier estimated price here.

2011 Porsche Cayenne

Porsche has officially unveiled its 2011 Cayenne SUV at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show. The second-generation Porsche Cayenne preserve its authentic look in the luxury SUV segment. This time, the German automaker had fuel-efficient hybrid and diesel version.

As part of VW Group family, the new Cayenne received a set of LED daytime running lights and more aerodynamic side mirrors. Overall, the new SUV wheelbase length longer by 40mm compare to the previous model.

The interior of the new Cayenne looks better as the designed received some influences from the Porsche Panamera like the centre console housing various functions. Like in the previous Cayenne, there are the signature triangular hand grips up front.

All the model of the 2011 Porsche Cayenne having eight-speed automatic from the VW Group that also supplies it to Volkswagen and Audi and four-wheel-drive. The variants debuts as below:-

- Cayenne Diesel – 240hp 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel

- Cayenne – 300hp 3.6-litre V6 petrol

- Cayenne Hybrid – 380hp 3.0-litre supercharged V6 petrol and two electric motors backed by lithium-ion batteries

- Cayenne S – 400hp 4.8-litre V8 petrol

- Cayenne Turbo – 500hp 4.8-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol

Although the S Hybrid can achieve 12.1 km per litre on fuel economy, the Diesel is the most frugal at 13.5 km per litre. All motors are claimed to be more efficient than ever, thanks to the availability of automatic stop-start feature. Further to reduce its weight and fuel consumption, the weight of the car is reduced by an average of 180kg with lighter materials.

Spoon aftermarket tuning package for Honda CR-Z

The Honda CR-Z is basic hot compact coupe that runs on Hybird Technology. But now, the japanese aftermarket tuner have make it hotter than ever.

Spoon fitted the new CR-Z with its CR93 wheels along with upgraded calipers clamping onto 15-inch slotted discs. A ride height lowered by 50mm with a set of suspension upgrade, while the exterior parts has been replace with the addition of a carbon fiber hood, mirrors and front lip spoiler.

More importantly, a new N1 exhaust has been fitted and Spoon modded the ECU to churn out a few extra horsepower. There’s no word on what the rejiggered computer and exhaust is good for power-wise or how Spoon is manipulating the hybrid drive system to boost performance, but considering the track record of Spoon. We can expect some good results after tuning up.

Toyota FT-86 premier in 2010 Geneva Motor Show and launch in 2011

Toyota FT-86 which was designed at Toyota’s ED2 studio in Nice, France, had its European premier this week at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show.

The compact sized coupe measures that 4,160mm long, 1,760mm wide and 1,260mm tall, with a 2,570mm wheelbase, is being co-developed with Subaru that will also present its own variant of the 2+2 seater sports model.

As a reminder of Subaru’s involvement in the project, the near production-ready FT-86 prototype uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder boxer engine from the Impreza while power is sent to the rear-wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox. The demo rides was fitted with 19-inch wheels with 225/40R19 tyres.

According to Toyota, the FT-86 is scheduled to be launched into the market towards the end of 2011 with Subaru’s variant to follow later on.
