Not at all, although the origins of the word came from the Kashmir area from the Persian times, we are fortunate that many other locations are now producing cashmere. One in particular is in Inner Mongolia, northern China. This area is the biggest producer of cashmere goats in the wool. Vary the pressure when working with color to give the sketch shadows and highlights. Never mind coloring outside the lines, because neatness in drawing doesn count much compared with the tangible creation that results from the idea. Some designers even purposefully color outside the outline, making the sketch more artistic and abstract. Many films of the 1940s centered on the trials and tribulations of the brave men and women fighting for freedom in Europe and the Pacific. In order to express its support for the hardships and rations endured during the War by regular citizens, Hollywood created simple and subdued costumes during this period. Women dressed in simple suits or slacks with sensible shoes. Batman Forever Return of Swamp Thing (Truly bad but I couldn make a strong enough case to call it a superhero film) Elektra Meteor Man (This film almost made my list but I left if off since it is mainly a spoof) Ghost Rider Dick Tracy And finally, I have to mention one film that was excluded that perhaps deserves the number one spot and that the 1994 Fantastic Four film that was never released theatrically or on video although it been heavily bootlegged. Intending it to be a $40 big budget film, the producer, Neu Constantin was about to lose his rights to the film and had to produce something. He hired director Roger Corman to make the film but not for $40 million. Matchy Matchy doesn't always work in the fashion world because sometimes you have to mix and match your outfits along with a little color. With the rules of wearing white after labor day doesn't really apply anymore. In fashion, you'll need to take certain risks without being afraid to strut your stuff in those outfits that you own. Are you one of those people that know exactly what you want but you have trouble finding it. Try looking for it on Ebay. You will be shocked to find exactly what you are looking for in a very reasonable price. Should petite women buy, tweak, or skip the animal influences trend for fall/winter 2010/2011? I say tweak on this fall fashion trend. Furs, whether real or faux, tend to be quite bulky, so petite women should wear them with care. For example, a fur lined hood may work better than a full length fur coat.

Toyota Corolla Altis 1.8G New Variant Introduction in Malaysia

Introduced in January 2014 in Malaysia, the 11th generation Toyota Corolla Altis has doubled its local sales volume compared to previous generation model, and currently leads its segment in market share. As always, UMW Toyota Motor constantly reviews feedback from customers with the aim of giving them the best product for their money. This is in line with Toyota’s ‘kaizen’ philosophy of continuous improvement, not just in the quality of the products and services but also in the value for money that customers get.

1.8G (Dark Brown)

The current 1.8-litre and 2.0-litre variants with Dual VVT-i engine and 7-speed Super CVT-i (Continuously Variable Transmission) has been well accepted by the market. There has been much feedback from customers to have a 1.8-litre variant with upgraded equipment package. Hence, UMW Toyota Motor is introducing the 1.8G new variant, to respond to the market needs.

Smart Entry Push Start Optitron Meter Combination & MID Black Interior with Combination Leather Seats

INTERIOR

On the inside, the addition of new features will certainly be appreciated by customers. For starters, 1.8G now have a Smart Entry & Start System, allowing keyless unlocking of the doors and starting the engine with just the press of a button.

The 1.8G also gets combination leather upholstery and an upgraded instrument panel which has Optitron meters. These meters, originally developed for the Lexus luxury models, are bright and clear with a 3-dimensional appearance, making viewing easy under any lighting conditions. There is also a Multi Information Display which provides information on various operating aspects of the car.

Illumination for the cupholders between the front seats, and for the front foot well, are also provided. Tiny illumination lamps at the base of each cupholder add a touch of class.

The variant also has an upgraded infotainment system with a 2-DIN head unit. This now consists of a DVD player with a 7-inch touchscreen that also acts as a display for the rear view camera. The audio unit, with an AM/FM receiver has connectivity options for various devices and also accepts SD card media as well as voice commands. A smartphone link is also available for compatible smartphone models, as well as Bluetooth hands-free system with steering wheel switches.

EXTERIOR

On the exterior, the 1.8G door handles have a chrome finish which matches the character line along the side of the car. Not so evident but which will be a convenient feature is the auto on/off mode for the headlamps. When set to AUTO, the headlamps will automatically come on when the external lighting level is low (e.g. entering a basement carpark), and switch off when the lighting level is high.

FUN-TO-DRIVE

Technically, there are no changes to the proven 1.8-litre and 2.0-litre Dual VVT-i engines with 7-speed Super CVT-i, which has been praised by local motoring journalists, for combining both advantages of fun-to-drive feeling of a conventional automatic transmission and fuel efficiency of a conventional CVT.

While the efficiency and reduced weight inherent in a pulley-type CVT would seem an ideal solution for vehicles emphasizing fuel efficiency, there is the characteristic CVT “rubber band” driving sensation of the engine winding to its power band upon hard acceleration. Toyota’s engineers have improved the drivability of the Corolla Altis by adapting discrete stepped “gears” or shift points, into the car’s acceleration and deceleration curves. The Corolla Altis’ Super CVT-i even mimics the familiar characteristics of hydraulic automatics creating a sense of positive shift engagement. There’s also a more linear connection between pedal effort and acceleration feel compared to previous CVT designs.

FUEL ECONOMY

Toyota engineers addressed challenges presented by typical CVT design such as the high level of hydraulic pressure CVT’s require for operation, and the optimization of the pulley ratio range to offer the best performance and fuel economy. Typically, CVT hydraulic-fluid pumps are driven at the same rate as the engine speed; as a result, the pump wastes considerable effort, impacting transmission efficiency at higher engine speeds as the pump moves more fluid than necessary to lubricate and sandwich the CVT’s belt. With the Corolla Altis’ Super CVT-i, hydraulic pressure was reduced to an optimal point to protect against belt slippage, while conserving drive effort to limit excess pumping losses.

For a belt-driven CVT, the range of speed ratios is determined by the diameters of the input and output pulleys.  The greater the disparity in size between these two pulleys, the greater the range of gear ratios, efficiency and performance the transmission can offer. The current 1.8-litre Super CVT-i offers a forward gear ratio range of 0.396 to 2.480 (which is wider than previous generation 1.8-litre Super CVT-i of 0.411 to 2.386), which works well for acceleration, cruising speeds, and fuel-conscious driving. There is also a transmission fluid warmer is used to help get fluid to optimal temperature faster.

MINOR UPGRADES TO 1.8E

As for the 1.8E base variant, it receives minor upgrades with Smart Entry & Start System, illumination for the cupholders and front foot well, exterior door handle chrome finish, and auto on/off mode for the headlamps. Meanwhile, with the introduction of 1.8G, the 2.0G will not be continued.

OTHERS

As before, customers can also select options such as a custom-designed aerokit. For those who require a GPS route navigation system, there is also an optional upgraded package which fits neatly into the 2-DIN space on the dashboard. The Toyota premium security and solar film, which is JPJ-compliant with a 7-year warranty, remains standard for all variants.

As with most models offered by UMW Toyota Motor, the Toyota Corolla Altis comes with a 3-year/100,000 km (whichever occurs earlier after first registration) warranty, subject to conditions stated in the Owner’s Handbook. This reflects the confidence that UMW Toyota Motor has in the superior build quality of its vehicles, a hallmark of Toyota products.

The on-the-road price (individual private registration with insurance, metallic color, Peninsular Malaysia) are as follows:

TOYOTA COROLLA ALTIS 2.0V with Additional Safety Package: RM139,915.30

TOYOTA COROLLA ALTIS 2.0V: RM136,015.30

TOYOTA COROLLA ALTIS 1.8G: RM119,900.00

TOYOTA COROLLA ALTIS 1.8E: RM115,900.00

The concept combines a bold new design language with an agile, engaging driving experience and a hybrid powertrain.

Toyota’s press conference will take place in Hall 4 of the Mondial de l’Automobile at 8:00 a.m. (4 p.m. AEST) on Thursday, October 2.

Motoring.com.au recommends 6 Toyota Vehicles for Australian Consumers

Six Toyota vehicles including the locally built Camry Hybrid have been named as top picks for Australian new-car buyers by the Carsales editorial site www.motoring.com.au.

Toyota’s family-oriented Kluger SUV, 86 sports car, LandCruiser 200 Series and Prado, and Prius v hybrid wagon also made the list of cars recommended by the site’s motoring experts.

IMG_4254.JPG

The new-generation seven-seat Kluger, launched in March, features a stylish design with more emotional appeal while engineers have delivered a more engaging drive and liberated more interior space.

So far this year, Camry Hybrid is the country’s top-selling hybrid car, the 86 heads the sports-car market, LandCruiser 200 is dominant in its segment and Prado sales are up more than eight per cent.

Prius v is the third member of the expanded Prius family that also includes the third-generation Prius hatch and the Prius c city car.

Carsales editor-in-chief Mike Sinclair said the recommended chanel espadrilles have been judged on their performance, refinement, handling, suitability for purpose and value for money.

He said resale value, reliability and factors such as warranty and the availability of benefits such as capped-price servicing were also considered.

“The cars we choose are the best in their respective segments and represent great buying choices for new car shoppers,” Mr Sinclair said.

Toyota sells more vehicles in Australia than any other brand and is currently leading the new-vehicle market for the 12th consecutive year.

New Toyota vehicles are covered by Toyota Service Advantage, the company’s capped-price servicing plan*.

Family cars >$30K: Toyota Kluger
Performance cars <$100K: Toyota 86
Offroad 4x4s: Toyota LandCruiser 200 Series, Toyota LandCruiser Prado

Australia snaps up 10% of global sales for Toyota 86

Australian sport-car enthusiasts have demonstrated their passion for driving Toyota’s popular 86  by snapping up almost one out of every 10 examples sold worldwide.

In a remarkable double, the 10,000th Toyota 86 has just been sold in Australia at virtually the same time as the compact and dynamic sports car has passed 100,000 sales globally.

TOYOTA 86 - A DOUBLE HIT!

Australia – with 10,363 customers since local sales began in June 2012 – is the biggest market for the 86 outside Japan (39,000 sales) and the United States (35,000).

Toyota Australia’s executive director sales and marketing Tony Cramb said the 86 was Australia’s best-selling sports car due to its style, performance, balance, handling and affordability.

“The Toyota 86 has become a halo car that demonstrates Toyota’s commitment to designing and engineering cars that really get your heart pumping,” Mr Cramb said.

“Importantly, the passion inside Toyota that led to the 86 is also resulting in more emotional styling and greater driving enjoyment in other Toyota vehicles such as the latest generations of RAV4, Corolla and Kluger.”

Mr Cramb said 80 per cent of Australian 86 sales were to private buyers, a significant proportion of whom were new to Toyota including first-time car buyers.

“The 86 has helped rejuvenate the company’s brand with an influx of young new customers who may never previously have considered a Toyota.

“Achieving 10,000 sales in less than two years demonstrates the love Australians have for sports cars and the strong appeal of the Toyota brand.”

Mr Cramb said that, in addition to the ability of the 86 to delight driving enthusiasts, the manual GT variant of the four-seat sports car remains at its launch price of $29,990.*

“Even so, it’s the more expensive GTS grade that has been in hottest demand, accounting for two-thirds of sales.

“Almost 40 per cent of customers have opted for the GTS manual while the GTS auto has found homes with more than one-quarter of all 86 buyers, and both are out-selling the lower-priced GT variants.”

The 86 sales performance – including 6,706 sold in 2013 – is a powerful reminder of Toyota’s sports-car heritage.
