UMW Toyota Malaysia made some updates of the estimated Price List for the New Upcoming Toyota Vios Facelift 2010 that will be launch soon here. The previous estimated price was higher.

I guess due to the pressure of Toyota brand name worldwide, and new competitors such as Kia Forte, Mazda 2 and upoming Ford Fiesta – They decided to reduce the price of the new facelift Vios as compare to the earlier estimated price here.

Toyota Vios 1.5 TRD Sportivo (AT) has reduced RM990 as compare to the earlier estimated price here.
While the lowest spec Toyota Vios 1.5J (MT) remain the same. The price reported is estimated price from UMW Toyota.

Toyota FT-86 which was designed at Toyota’s ED2 studio in Nice, France, had its European premier this week at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show.

The compact sized coupe measures that 4,160mm long, 1,760mm wide and 1,260mm tall, with a 2,570mm wheelbase, is being co-developed with Subaru that will also present its own variant of the 2+2 seater sports model.

As a reminder of Subaru’s involvement in the project, the near production-ready FT-86 prototype uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder boxer engine from the Impreza while power is sent to the rear-wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox. The demo rides was fitted with 19-inch wheels with 225/40R19 tyres.

According to Toyota, the FT-86 is scheduled to be launched into the market towards the end of 2011 with Subaru’s variant to follow later on.

Toyota UMW Malaysia seems to facelifted the vios and it is coming to your showroom near you real soon.The above image which is from Toyota website give us a little tease about the up coming Toyota Vios 2010 Malaysia version.

The most significant change as we will notice is the front grille, a different style of rear lamp and possible a new design of rims.

UMW Toyota Malaysia will make some adjustment to the price of the new facelift vios.

This also means that you can’t get a Vios below 70k anymore, however Toyota might give some discount here and then over time. Do come back to us and we will provide you more info on the New Toyota Vios Facelift version as soon as we have them.

Toyota FT-86 – Honda CR-Z – Nissan Leaf

The car that has been dubbed the ‘Toyobaru’ has been revealed for the first time. Toyota’s new FT-86 concept will appear at this month’s Tokyo motor show as the first half of a joint-venture rear-wheel-drive sports car with Subaru.

The affordable compact coupe will go on sale in late 2011 with a Toyota badge, followed by the Subaru version that should get its own styling. Toyota has designed the FT-86 that is both short (4160mm) and low (1260mm) and borrows styling cues from the company’s FT-HS concept. Blacked-out A-pillars create a sporty wrap-around windscreen.

Toyota says the FT-86 is a five-seater and which based on a shortened version of the Impreza small car platform also modified from all-wheel drive to rear-wheel drive. Subaru’s 2.0-litre naturally aspirated flat-four ‘boxer’ engine will add to the coupe’s low centre of gravity that will aid handling. It will be mated to a six-speed manual.

From the photos, the mostly grey interior looks more concept than production car, though. A strong hexagonal theme dominates the FT-86’s dash, notably the air vents and rear-view mirror.

The three-spoke steering wheel features a flat bottom for a sporty touch, while there’s the now mandatory engine start/stop button.

The FT-86 will be a much-needed model for Toyota, a brand that has been searching for an image boost after discontinuing its most exciting products in recent years – the Supra, MR2 and Celica.

In 2008, Toyota to double its stake from 8.7 to 16.5 per cent in Subaru’s parent company Fuji Heavy Industries when the sports car collaboration was first announced. There was speculation the project was delayed by the financial crisis, though the joint development should significantly reduce production costs for both parties.

The Japanese automaker’s luxury SUV received from Wald International’s the latest Black Bison styling packages that give the Lexus RX350 and RX450h an aggressive new look. The total makeover includes a new front bumper with large air-inlets, side skirts, a new rear bumper that houses a diffuser, redesigned front grille, a pair of twin tail pipes, a roof spoiler and Wald International’s multispoke alloy wheels.

Furthermore, Wald International’s also offers an interior enhancements such as an alloy pedal set and specific floor mats.

UMW Toyota has launched the new Camry facelift here in Malaysia and available at all Toyota outlets from 4 September 2009 onwards in Peninsular Malaysia.

The new facelifted Camry comes in three variants – 2.4V, 2.0G and 2.0E – and is priced at RM174,990, RM154,990 and RM144,990 respectively (on-the-road with insurance). The cars are available in six colours.

Basically, the new facelifted 2009 Toyota Camry comes with a redesigned front grille, headlamp and bumper, and other new features include a cruise control function and an auxiliary jack.

Moreover, the 2.0 models share a 16 inch wheel design while the 2.4 liter model gets a different design that is larger at 17 inches. LED lighting is used in the new rear tail lamps.

The interesting part from technology savvy point of view - a new feature for 2.4V model which is the Smart Entry & Start System which is basically keyless entry and go by pressing the Start button.

Toyota has confirmed that it will reveal the all-new Toyota Land Cruiser Prado at the Frankfurt motorshow this year. A JDM brochure that leaked onto the internet in the beginning of August has reveals that the 2010 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado receives new redesigned from exterior to interior. For the Japanese Domestic market, Toyota will be launching it on 14th September 2009 at Japan.

UMW Toyota Malaysia has brought in the Toyota Prius. Only showing to public at this Friday (August 7th) in selected showrooms, we manage to find out that only Subang Jaya showroom and Cheras Toyota Showroom will have the Toyota Prius. UMW Toyota website has indicated the car is selling for about RM175,000 . Powered by a 1.8 litre petrol engine and mated with a Ni-MH battery/motor powertrain, along with a CVT transmission – as a result, toyota claims that its power of acceleration is equivalent to a Camry 2.4. This is the first version of Prius we get in Malaysia, true fact is – this is the 3rd generation of Prius from Toyota.
