Toyota FT-HS Hybrid Sports Concept will be exhibiting at KLIMS 2010

The Toyota FT-HS is a hybrid sports car concept was initially introduced during the 2007 North American International Auto Show. Now, this car will be exhibiting at Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show 2010 (KLIMS 2010) together with other concept model – 1/X.

This car is design to fill the place of the legendary Toyota Supra. FT-HS stands for Future Toyota Hybrid Sport. As a next generation of hybrid sports car, the FT-HS does not compromise in its aim of offering driving excitement and being environmentally considerate.

–  Offers the exceptionally smooth cruising of a hybrid vehicle combined with high fuel efficiency, reduced CO2 and other emissions and a quiet cabin, on top of the driving excitement of rear wheel drive.

–  In addition to carbon-fibre wheels, uses special large-diameter and wide tyres – F: 245/35R21 and R: 285/30R21.

Boasting a powerful V6 3.5L engine, the FT-HS is coupled with Toyota’s Hybrid Synergy Drive® to produce a target power output of approximately 400 horsepower.  It’s projected zero – 100 km/h acceleration is within the 4-seconds range.  

One of the unique features of the FT-HS includes a carbon fiber Kevlar retractable roof that pulls into the backseat area and turns this 2+2 four seater into a 2 seat convertible with the touch of a button. The roof has a distinctive scooped-out section designed to reduce aerodynamic drag and provide headroom at the key areas.

The FT-HS’s interior features create a dedicated driver’s cockpit that includes a cross-car instrument panel structure and delta-wing driver pod. An integrated instrument panel surrounds the driver, creating an enclosed pod effect. Armrests flow seamlessly into the door and surrounding interior. Seating is optimized for a lightweight appearance and function. The seating accommodates four and then converts to a two-seater when the roof retracts.
