Subaru is officially introducing the Subaru Impreza WRX STI Spec C for the current model. The car hits the market on the July 23, 2009 and makes several improvements on top of the standard STI. The production of the Spec C limited to 900 units only.

The Spec C has lightened the body and weight by fitting with lighter body panel, smaller battery, laminar glass on front and side windows. Besides, the 18" lightweight alloy wheels (or optional 17") with seven double spokes are wrapped with Bridgestone Potenza RE070 tyres like the FD2 Civic Type R to improve cornering and grips. Instead of a spare tyre in the trunk, a flat tyre repair kit is placed as part of weight reduction. A recalibrated power steering system to have a nimble handling with a firm steering feel too.

The guys on this project had reprogrammed the ECU and fitted with a redesigned turbocharger that uses new ball and axle bearings to boost the torque output to 422Nm while maintaining 304hp. Technically, the Rear LSD system are changed to a mechanical type from a Torsen type to obtain the steady and powerful traction to improve cornering. The retuned suspension changes in damping force of suspensions, coil spring rate, rear stabilizer and rear sub-frame bushes optimize rigidity for body roll and retain excellent road-holding capability. Besides those, a structural change of fuel pump as well which helps to provides stable fuel delivery even on high-load driving.

All WRX STI Spec models comes standard with gold Brembo brake calipers. The car come standard with front bucket seats that made by fabric with red stitch. However, a pair of Recaro brand bucket seats that made by combination of Alcantara and leather with red stitch are optional.

For the exterior, two exclusive exterior colors are available: Sunrise Yellow and Pure White. Of course, the standard Mica Blue is still available with Spec C. The pricing has not been officially released till date.

Here Gone are the days of high revving engines and rear wheel drive fun. It’s hybrid influenza in Japan now with all manner of models starting to appear. As far as upcoming models are concerned though, the most disappointing seems to be the Honda S2000 replacement in 2012 will only have the number of doors and its name in common with the previous car.

According the Best Car, instead of Honda's high-revving F20C and the rear-wheel drive roadster's will replaced with “low emission, high class” motoring in a package that has tiny in common with its predecessor. The new S2000 will share its 2nd-generation hybrid driveline with that of the new Honda Accord and as such will be only in front wheel drive.

In the other hand, the S2000 will be a step higher in range comparing to the new hybrid CR-Z. This 'successor' is expected to go on sale in early 2012.

Since the new Mk-6 Volkswagen Golf GTI available for sale in Europe, many German tuning firm are readying to release many goodies to spices up the new GTI. Following ABT's recently revealed sport package, MR Cardesign form Erftstadt is the latest German firm to apply its tuning knowledge on the Golf GTI VI. First up is an engine kit that includes an ECU upgrade which lifts output from 210HP and 280Nm of torque to a punchy 260HP and 380Nm.

The additional 50HP and 100Nm helps reduce the GTI's 0 to 100km/h time from 6.9 seconds to 5.8 seconds while the hot hatchback's top speed is increased from 240km/h to 263km/h.

In addition to powertrain upgrades, MR Cardesign offers a sport suspension from KW that lowers the car by 50mm up front and by 40mm at the back, along with a high performance brake system from Sportech and 19-inch alloy wheels shod in Vredestein tires size 225/35 R19. Customer may also opt for a more sonorous sport exhaust system.

Let us clear your doubt in this post. Before I begin writing this article, I would like to express our appreciation for the invitation and the support to us! Anyway, our passionate FastMotoring crew are exclusively invited to grand launch of BMW Z4 in Malaysia at Pavilion KL.

BMW's two-seat roadster is redesigned for 2009 with a first-time, power-fold hardtop, more power, and new fuel-saving features. It's a successor to the original Z3 and is the BMW's only two-seat sports car. It features traditional characteristics such as a front-engine/rear-drive layout, a hunkered-down stance, a long hood and rearward positioning of driver and passenger.

The E89 BMW Z4 is now here in Malaysia as 2009 model, this roadster shares its basic platform with the BMW's latest 3-Series. BMW Malaysia offered in two grade – the sDrive23i and the sDrive35i. For your better understanding, the BMW "sDrive" badge indicates the model is a rear-wheel-drive variant. Which similar to "xDrive" which indicates all-wheel drive like the X6 xDrive35i.

I think the BMW has developed a few fuel-saving tricks that possible making this roadster a better fit for suddenly difficult times due to the world economy tanked. Therefore, the BMW Z4 sDrive23i is introduced with a naturally-aspirated 2.5 litre 6 cylinders engine. This sDrive23i generates the a maximum output of 204hp @ 6,400rpm and 250Nm of torque @ 2,750rpm. The engine on the sDrive23i team with a 6-speed sports automatic transmission with gearshit paddles on the steering wheel. With such specification and amazing torque that generates from a 2.5 litre engine, this car takes 7.3 seconds for acceleration from a standstill to 100km/h and a top speed of 239km/h. Anyway, I would expect this Z4 sDrive23i is reasonable to drive around the city and great enough to deliver the feel of a sexy roadster.

For those who is facing a 'midlife crisis' which wanted a hot performance car, the sDrive35i is the car that specially for you. This model is powered by High Precision Injection 3.0 litre Twin Turbo 6 cylinders engine with outputs of 306hp @ 5,800rpm and 400Nm of torque in between 1,300rpm to 5,000rpm. Awesome engines needs a awesome transmission, a 7-speed double clutch transmission with gearshift paddles on the steering wheel is fitted to this model. The double-clutch system are similar to the VW group’s DSG system, which cogs are swapped quicker than the blink of an eye that making the car accelerate from a standstill to 100km/h with only 5.1 seconds. Comparing the top speed with the BMW Z4 sDrive23i, the Z4 sDrive35i does a little faster which has the top speed of 250km/h.

If you are fans of BMW cars, probably you know that all the new BMW cars in Malaysia are now standard with BMW Service + Repair Inclusive. This covers the cost of maintaining, servicing or repairing any wear-and-ear for three (3) years or 60,000km. Of course, the Z4 is not exceptional.

Latest rumors from Nihon Car, the STI crew may have a new project on their hands which is a racing version of the new Legacy for the Japanese Super GT series.

Although details are few and far between at this point, the Legacy STI would reportedly compete in the JGTCC GT300 class, not in the top-level GT500. The GT300 category closely mirrors production car specs, so don't expect any wild conversions, but STI would surely push the envelope here, especially considering that their super-sedan would have to dice it with the likes of Porsche GT3s and race-prepped Ferraris and Lamborghinis.

Privateer team Cusco won a race last year at Sepang with a GT300-spec Impreza, where the all-wheel-drive proved an advantage, but there's no telling what could happen if Subaru throws the weight of its factory support behind a works racing effort.

Mazdaspeed 3 is launched in Japan. It has been a Mazda week for us in Malaysia, suprisingly this year, the Japanese decided to launch their new Mazda 3 Models or what they like to call Mazda Axela later than us.Well, since it's Japan, they always get something special which is the Mazdaspeed 3 or rather known as Mazdaspeed Axela.

Mazda 3 in Japan is available in hatchback or sedan. With 1.5-liter and 2.0-liter four cylinder gasoline engines paired with a CVT or 4/5-speed automatic transmissions (depending on the model). The Japanese buyers also has an option of all-wheel drive system.While the top of the range MazdaSpeed Axela - that has a 2.3-liter turbocharged under the hood delivers 264ps to the front-wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox.
